Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord by Charlie Webster and Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson

Created, written and produced by Charlie Webster, Hosted and Executive produced by Charlie and Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson.

Speaking publicly for the first ever, Chicago-born identical twins Jay and Peter Flores share their incredible journey with Charlie and 50. They went from dealing $2 billion worth of drugs as North America’s most successful cocaine traffickers, to government informants who brought down the infamous drug lord, “El Chapo.”

Charlie developed the concept having worked with Lionsgate Sound and 50 Cent’s G-Unit productions to secure access. She built her relationship with the Flores Twins and their wives, working to gain trust and understanding to be able to tell not just the ‘narco’ side of the story, but the story of family, love, trauma, the life we are born into, choices, pain and penance. Charlie captured the insight, emotions and intimacy rarely heard in a story like this.

Did they do the ‘right’ thing? Was it all worth it? They still have a life sentence of always looking over their shoulder.

Charlies speaks to Chicago Today about “Surviving El Chapo” and its Chicago connection.

“From high-flying cocaine dealers to government informants, Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson and journalist Charlie Webster tell the story of identical twins Jay and Peter Flores, who were responsible for taking down Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán, one of the world’s most dangerous drug barons. After 14 years in prison, the twins speak out for the first time to tell this thrilling, high-wire tale.”
