My Documentary for the BBC Nowhere to Run
It was such a journey making this film, from the moment I decided to put pen to paper after thinking about it for so long, filming not knowing whether I’d actually be able to track anybody down let alone whether they’d want to speak to me, to sitting in the edit making sure every little detail represented what I set out for this film to do. We must not keep putting the onus on the victim, in my case I was a child that was being groomed, I was scared, confused and alone, the accountability and responsibility to stop this did not fall on me but the adults around me and the organisations that should be protecting children.
A selection of press coverage and reviews.
“We commend Charlie for bravely opening up about the abuse she experienced at the hands of her sports coach, in this powerful new documentary.”
