Our Girl Katie
Katie was a young talented athlete who was abused by her coach then betrayed by the system. Charlie and Katie were part of the same running group, they were best friends.
With the BBC, and Katie's family, Charlie brought Katie and her story to the public, and gave her the voice she felt like she never had. Alongside Our Girl Katie, Charlie wrote a letter to the UK Secretary of State, it was backed and signed by 100's of charities, specialists and professors. She urged the justice secretary to ensure multi-year funding for specialist support for victims of sexual abuse as part of the new Victim's Bill, support that neither Katie or Charlie had.
